Macmillan's Coffee Morning

Here at Wedding Acrylics HQ, we’ve been excitedly planning to take part in Macmillan’s Biggest Coffee Morning with our staff – the yummiest charity event on the calendar! We’ve been so excited discussing what we’ll be making and what products we’re going to use that we thought it rude not to share with you!
Last year, the “Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning” raised £15Million pounds. Amazing isn’t it. But we can do better than that can’t we?“Cancer is the toughest fight of them all...you’ll be raising money to makesure that everyone has a Macmillan team in their corner” says Macmillanorganisers. Cancer is something that affects all of us in some way or another. This coffee morning is about raising money for the very best treatment, medicalstaff and support. Its such a worthy cause, who wouldn’t want to get involved?!Plus, it’s all about CAKE – need we say more?
So, the colour scheme is green and white. We’ve got your bases covered (literally) with white and a spectrum of green icings: Lincoln green, Lime, Pastel Green and Bottle Green. These colours look fantastic layered on top of each other for decoration – flowers for example, or use one of our silicone moulds like our FPC Sugarcraft Tea and Biscuits mould or Alphabet Cupcakes Mould if you really want to be in keeping with the theme of the day.
Use our fabulous PME Candy Buttons or Wilton Candy Melts to make some green-tastic cakepops. We’ll be using PME’s White Chocolate Mint Candy Buttons for our cakepops topped with Green Sugar Stars, Pearlescent Green Sugar Crystals and PME Green Balls. Or, if you’re really pushing the boat out, go mad with our Green Lustre Spray!! (Perfect for Stencilling!)
If it’s cupcakes you’re making, it has to be using out PME Green Polka Cases – these match the MacMillan Official Tablecloths, it doesn’t get better than that! Alternatively, we have got beautiful green metallic foil cases which fit in with the colour scheme just as well and are perfect for muffins or bigger cupcakes.
Paint your cakes with Pearlescent spring green and holly green food paints and click and twist paint brushes. Or use our edible ink pens to customise some toppers – simply cut out a small circle and draw straight onto the icing (we’d recommend you use tylo powder for this type of decorating – it’ll make your icing easier to draw on!). You can draw cupcakes, coffee, the logo or Macmillan messages for a Mac-Mazing cupcake topper!
We LOVE the patters on the official Macmillan Coffee Morning Table Cloths and have been using this as baking inspiration. Use our Blossom Sugar Art Rose Cookie Cutters to create green cookies to match – absolutely florally fabulous! OR if you want to keep in with the coffee morning theme, We’ve got Teapot, Teacup and Cupcake Cookie Cutter and embossing sets. They’re so adorable, everyone will want to buy your themed too-good-to-eat cookies.
So, there we have it. Your ultimate guide to baking and decorating products for the Macmillan Coffee Morning. Bake. Raise Money. Have Fun!!
